ヒト及び動物を対象とし、磁気共鳴画像・PET・脳波などのイメージングや経頭蓋磁気刺激などの脳刺激法を組み合わせ、脳内ネットワークの時間的変化を計測する多次元イメージング手法を開発しており、さらに今後、ミクロレベルのイメージングとMRIなどマクロレベルのイメージングを繋ぐ新しい分野を開拓して行きます。そのような基礎研究を、学習や疾患に伴う脳内ネットワークの可塑性の理解、精神・神経疾患の新しい診断法の開発及びbrain-machine interface（BMI）などの治療法開発に活用し、医療水準の向上に貢献したいと考えています。

To measure dynamics of the brain network　states, I have been developing multimodal (multidimensional) neuroimaging in humans and non-human animals. Here at Kyoto University, I further aim at advancing the multimodal neuroimaging to bridge the gap between microscopic imaging and macroscopic neuroimaging such as MRI. Thereby I want to visualize network alterations in healthy learning and disease processes and to develop new diagnostic tools and therapeutic approaches such as brain machine interface (BMI) for neuro-psychiatric disorders.
